OUR LASTS

First of all, what is a last? many times we confuse a shoe, with a design or with a last.

Well, the last is neither more nor less than the mold on which the shoe is built. The last determines the shape of the shoe, the style, its volume and also, very importantly, its height. Every time we see a different shape and/or height of a shoe (as long as it does not have a platform), it means that it is a different last. For example, a shoe with a fine toe, a round toe, a sandal or a bootie will always use different lasts even if they are of the same height. And each of those heights will have a different last as well.

In our case, if we stick to fine toe pumps, we can find 4 lasts today: Agnes (4.5 cm, it's so new that we haven't been able to post a photo yet), María Luisa (6 .5 cm), Susana (8.5 cm) and Mar (10 cm). Therefore, each last has its height, so to have less heel you have to change the last. We are not very fond of hacks to cut the heels since it would decompensate the shoe and would make it tend to deform with use, since we are forcing it to adopt a position that is not that of the last.

Although other factors that must be taken care of influence, the last largely determines the aesthetics of the shoe as well as its comfort.

However, on the same last, if different designs can be made (combined in two colors, undercut, with waves, closed, with trim...) and put different heels, for example, on the Mar last, we can reach 12 cm by adding a platform, or add a thick heel.

The ideal would be to have a last for each foot, but unfortunately it is a complex process and quite expensive to make the investment unless it is essential.

At Just-ENE we strive to make our lasts as comfortable as possible, so we play with the height, width and internal padding in the shoe to gain comfort and make shoes you can go home with.

Many times when choosing shoes we are conditioned by height, design and color. Normally we look for a shoe of a certain color, in a certain height and with a certain style. And that is when we find fashion that tries to explain to us what we should wear, regardless of what we are looking for. And for this reason, we visit all the stores that are necessary until we find that shoe that we are looking for.

For this reason, we decided to create Just-ENE, to give you what you are looking for and not what others want you to wear. And for this reason, today we want to show you the lasts with which we work, so that you can see the options on which our shoes can be customized.

As we already told you in a previous post, all our lasts have a name, and that name is a tribute to important people who are or have been in our lives. That's why we started!
